Goal:                           Participants will learn how to diagnose, manage and treat recovering alcoholics

                                    who have co-existing personality disorders.

 

Objectives:                Participants will learn how to diagnose personality disorders in recovering alcoholics.

 

       Participants will learn how to use assessment tools to assist them to diagnose

       personality disorders in recovering alcoholics.

 

       Participants will learn how to help recovering alcoholics cope with mood and personality

       disorders as part of their recovery.

 

       Participants will learn how to manage suicidal feelings and incest memories as part of their recovery.

 

Methods:                   Lecture, handouts, power point presentation, case presentation, case discussion

 

 

Presenter:      Joan Marquard, LPCC LICDC is a therapist and trainer from Cleveland, Ohio.  Ms. Marquard has

                        many years of experience serving patients with severe psychological problems –

                        narcissistic/borderline disorders, addiction, trauma and sexual abuse.  She has performed presentations

                        for Heisel and Associates since 1997.  She consistently receives outstanding evaluations for her

                        presentations.  She is a Master Addictions Counselor and is graduate of the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland. 

                        She has designed and implemented programs for addicted and traumatized patients in Cleveland area

                        hospitals and schools.
