I have been professionally involved in the provision of Social Services since 1978.  During that time I have had experience providing services to adolescents, substance abusers, couple/families and children.  I also have experience teaching college students at the graduate and undergraduate level, and performing professional presentations.  Since 1985 I have taught over 38 college courses.  Since 1984 I have performed as a professional trainer on the topics of substance abuse, Brief Therapy, adolescent treatment, marital counseling, managed care, case management, supervision and professional ethics.  In the past 26 years I have performed over 650 workshops to local, state and national audiences.

I am licensed in the State of Ohio as a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory designation (#I-472-S) and

as a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (#841108), and am a Board Certified Diplomat in Clinical Social Work (#007486).  I have had hundreds of hours of training in Substance Abuse treatment, 3 years of training in Family Therapy, and over 5 years of training in Brief Therapy.

I currently maintain a private practice specializing with Substance Abusers, Couples/Families and Adolescents.  After 3 years as Coordinator of Training at The Brief Therapy Center of Cincinnati, in 1995 I began my own training business as Heisel and Associates.  I offer training to Mental Health and Substance Abuse Agencies, Schools, Professional Associations, and State and National Conventions.

I am familiar with the provision of services under EAP and Managed Care contracts.  I currently maintain many contracts with EAP and Managed Care firms.  For 3 years I  sat on my local professional advisory board for Magellan Behavioral Health.  I currently assist many mental health and substance abuse practitioners to prepare for careers as professional providers of quality services.

I seek opportunities to practice independently, teach, supervise, and assist clinicians

to become more efficient in their practice settings as the Social Service field adapts to a

rapidly changing practice environment.
