Goal                Participants will be able to develop a culture of excellence with supervisees through the process of clinical supervision.

 

Objectives:

                1. Participants will enhance understanding of the supervisory relationship and the roles the supervisors play in the professional development of staff

 

                        2. Participants will enhance understanding of clinical challenges that come when working with seriously mentally ill

                            consumers

 

                        3. Participants will enhance understanding of how to coach the recovery process

 

                        4. Participants will enhance understanding of the therapeutic alliances and how to overcome supervisory challenges

                            when staff are stuck on counter transference issues

 

                        5. Participants will learn how to establish a culture of excellence

Presenter:  Andy Solovey, LISW is in private practice at Solutions Counseling in Dublin, Ohio. He is the former Clinical Director of Scioto Paint Valley Mental Health Center in Chillicothe, Ohio.  He has 35 years of experience in the behavioral healthcare field, is a co-author of Changing The Rules:  A Client-Directed Approach To Therapy, has served on the faculty of Dayton Family Therapy  Institute and performed presentations for many years.  This presentation is partly based on a book Andy has co-authored with Scott Fraser entitled Second Order Change in Psychotherapy:  The Golden Thread That Unifies Effective Treatments.  He is also currently providing consultations at Head Start and Early Head Start programs in Fayette and Pickaway Counties. He is a trainer and

co-developer of Integrated Family And Systems Treatment (I-Fast) which is an in-home treatment protocol for youth who are at risk for out of home placement.
