Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors and Marriage & Family Therapists: 36 CE hours required to renew license. 6 CE hours must be in ethics and law; if you have not already done so, you are required to get 6 CE hours in Suicide Risk Assessment and Intervention, and 3 CE hours in Telehealth which includes law and ethics related to Telehealth (you only have to do this 1 time);  if you are renewing your license for the 1st time, you must have 7 CE hours in HIV/AIDS.  Accepts providers approved by Association of Social Work Boards, the National Board of Certified Counselors, and the American Psychological Association.  Heisel and Associates is an approved provider by the ASWB, the NBCC and the APA.

Psychologist: 36 CE hours required to renew license. 4 CE hours in ethics, and 4 CE hours in cultural diversity/social justice. Online courses are accepted up to 20 hours maximum.  There are very specific criteria about what will be accepted.  Check with the state board before doing any online courses.  Accepts providers who are approved by the Association of Social Work Boards.

Psychologists: CE is not required.

Connecticut

Social Workers: 15 CE hours required every year to renew license. Online courses are approved for up to 6 hours.  Must have CE hours in ethics and cultural competency.  Accepts any online course approved  by ASWB.

Professional Counselors: 15 CE hours required every year to renew license. No information on online courses, but accepts online courses approved by NBCC, ACA, APA or AAMFT.  Must get CE hours in ethics and cultural competency.

Alcohol and Drug Counselors: After 12/2014, 40 CE hours are required every 2 years to renew license. 6 CE hours of ethics and 3 CE hours of trauma counseling are required and must be face to face. Online course is accepted for up to 6 of the remaining 31 CE hours.

Florida

Heisel and Associates in now an approved provider for Continuing Education through the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling (Provider #50-17635).  Heisel and Associates is also an Approved Provider for Continuing Education through the Florida Board of Psychology (Provider #50-17635). 

Social Workers, Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists:   30 CE hours required every 2 years to renew license. 2 CE hours must be taken in Medical Errors;  3 CE hours must be taken in Ethics/Boundaries or Telehealth, alternating each biennium, 2 CE hours must be taken every six years on domestic violence, 3 CE hours must be taken every 3rd biennium on Florida Laws and Rules, and 4 CE hours must be taken every 3rd biennium on Supervision, for Qualified Supervisors. Online courses are accepted for 100% of CE hours. Heisel and Associates is not approved to provide CE hours for Medical Error, Florida Laws, or for the Supervision requirement.

Psychologist: 40 CE hours required every 2 years to renew license. Must get 3 CE hours in Ethics and Florida Laws related to Psychology, 2 CE hours in prevention of Medical Errors.  Every 6 years must get 2 CE hour in domestic violence.   Psychologists should note that we are approved for "Ethics", but not for "Florida Laws".  The board's regulations state that at least 1 CE hour of Ethics must be about professional ethics, and at least 1 CE hour must be about Florida Laws related to Psychology.

Alcohol & Drug Counselors:  20 CE hours required to renew your Certification each year.  Heisel and Associates is not a provider for the Fl Certification Board. 

Georgia

Social Workers, Professional Counselors and MFT's: 35 CE hours required every 2 years to renew license. 5 CE hours must be in ethics. Psychologists: CE hours are required beginning July 1, 2016.  Specific requirements and whether online courses are allowed is unclear.

Illinois

Kentucky

Heisel and Associates is an approved provider by the Kentucky Board of Social Work. We are approved for LPC's for specific courses - Kentucky Laws, Domestic Violence, and Suicide Prevention.  We no longer apply for approval for all of our online courses with the boards for LPC's, Psychologists, Alcohol & Drug Counselors and MFT's.  However, most of our online courses are approved for Psychologists, LPC's and LCADC's due to the board's granting approval when a provider is approved by other national and state boards.  We are an approved provider by the American Psychological Association, the National Board of Certified Counselors, and the National Association of Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselors.

Social Work: 30 CE hours required to renew license every 3 years. Online courses can be utilized for 100% of CE hours. Must get 3 CE hours in ethics, must get 6 CE hours every 6 years in Suicide Prevention and Treatment, must get 3 CE hours in Domestic Violence within 3 years of initial licensure, and must get 1.5 CE hours in Pediatric Head Trauma every 6 years.  We have 1 Video Online Course which is approved for SW Ethics.  No other Ethics or Supervision courses are approved for KY SW's.

Licensed Professional Counselors: 10 CE hours are required annually to renew your license. 3 CE hours in KY Law regarding LPC's must be completed every 3 years; 3 CE hours in Domestic Violence must be completed within 3 years of licensure;  and 6 CE hours in Suicide Prevention must be completed every 6 years. We offer specific courses in Kentucky Laws, Domestic Violence, and Suicide Prevention which have approval from the KY LPC Board.  For other courses the board accepts any provider who is approved by NBCC.  Other than out "Kentucky Laws" Video Online Course, no other Ethics or Supervision courses are approved for LPC's in KY.

Psychologists: 39 CE hours required every 3 years to renew license. Limit of 12 CE hours may be obtained through online courses. 3 CE hours required in Ethics/Risk Management each renewal period, 6 CE hours every 6 years in Suicide Prevention and Treatment, and 3 CE hours in Supervision if you are providing Supervision services to Psychologists.  Accepts providers who are approved by the American Psychological Association.

Alcohol/Drug Counselors: 60 CE hours required every 3 years to renew license. MFT's: 15 CE hours required annually to renew license. 3 CE hours must be in ethics. No limit on number of CE hours obtained through online course.  Must get 6 CE hours every 6 years in Suicide Prevention and Treatment.  Heisel and Associates is no longer an approved sponsor of CE by the MFT Board.

Louisiana

Social Worker: 20 CE hours required annually to renew license. 3 hours of social work ethics every 2 years. 10 hours must contain clinical content including diagnosis & treatment of mental disorders for LCSW. Online courses approved for up to 10 hours.  Accepts providers approved by ASWB.

Heisel and Associates is an approved provider by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist Board, the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board and the Ohio Psychological Association.  

Social Workers, Professional Counselors, Marriage & Family Therapists: 30 CE hours required every 2 years to renew license. Social Workers, Counselors and MFT's can obtain all of their CE hours to renew their license via online course. Must get 3 CE hours in ethics (cultural competence is considered ethics) and 3 CE hours in supervision (if you are a clinical supervisor).  If you complete more than the 30 CE hours for renewal, you can carry over up to 12 CE hours to the next renewal cycle.

IMFT's seeking to maintain their supervisory designation must obtain a 3 CE hour "AAMFT approved or equivalent supervision" refresher course every 5 years in order to retain their supervisory designation.  Contact the Board, or check the board's website, to find out what the objectives of the 3 hour refresher course must be.  None of our online Supervision courses are approved for CE hours for Marriage & Family Therapists.

Marriage and Family Therapist: 35 CE hours are required every 2 years to renew license. 3 hours of ethics based on the American Association of Marrige & Family Therapists Code of Ethics are required; 2 CE hours must be in services to veterans and their families. Psychologist: 20 CE hours required every 2 years to renew license. Online courses are accepted for 10 CE hours if the provider is approved by the American Psychological Association. 3 CE hours must be in ethics.  2 CE hours must be in services to veterans and their families.  Accepts providers approved by APA or NASP.  Heisel and Associates is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. 

Alcohol and Drug Counselors:  Online courses accepted for up to 20 CE hours.  6 CE hours must be addiction specific.  Accepts providers approved by NAADAC.

Wisconsin

Social Worker: 30 CE hours required every 2 years to renew license. 4 hours of ethics or boundary issues presented face to face are required. Online courses are accepted for a maximum of 15 hours. Automatically accepts ASWB approval.

Professional Counselor: 30 CE hours required every 2 years to renew license. 4 hours of ethics required. 15 hours of the 30 hours must be directly related to professional counseling. Online courses are accepted for up to 15 CE hours.  Online courses cannot be used for ethics CE hours. Accepts providers approved by ASWB.

Psychologist: 40 CE hours required every 2 years to renew license. Online courses are not accepted.  Heisel and Associates is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. 

Marriage and Family Therapist: 30 CE hours required every 2 years to renew license. 4 hours of ethics required. 15 hours of the 30 hours must be in the MFT field. Online courses are accepted for up to 15 CE hours.  Online courses cannot be used for ethics CE hours.  Accepts providers approved by ASWB.

Alcohol and Drug Counselor: 40 CE hours required every 2 years to renew license. Online course are accepted for up to 15 CE hours.  Board does not pre-approve courses.

Wyoming

Social Worker: 45 CE hours required every 2 years to renew license. Must complete 3 CE hours in ethics, and 3 CE hours in suicide assessment or prevention. Automatically accepts approval from providers approved by the Association of Social Work Boards.  Heisel and Associates is an approved provider by the ASWB.

Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Alcohol and Drug Counselor: 45 CE hours required every 2 years to renew license. Must complete 3 CE hours in ethics, and 3 CE hours in suicide assessment or prevention. Alcohol and Drug Counselors must obtain 15 CE hours specific to substance abuse.
