Kentucky Courses for Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors, and Psychologists
Heisel and Associates is an approved proviider for the Kentucky Board of Social Work (provider #KBSWSP-202223). Keep in mind that not all online courses are approved by the KY SW Board. We have one video online course on ethics ("Advanced Ethics for Kentucky Social Workers") which is approved by the KY SW Board (Provider #KBSW-2022128 - Ethics). We also have required courses on Domestic Violence ("Domestic Violence: Understanding Its Impact on the Lives of Clients", and "Domestic Violence Perpetrators: Therapeutic Implications") and on Suicide Prevention ("Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk: 24 Core Competencies for Mental Health Professionals in Kentucky", "Assessment and Brief Treatment of Suicidal Clients", "Suicide Assessment, Treatment, and Management: 24 Core Competencies", and "The Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicide (CAMS) Framework: A Hospital Avoidant Approach to Treating Suicide and Trauma".) Any other text or video based online courses having to do with ethics or clinical supervision are not approved. You can, on your own, easily determine which text based and video online courses are approved by clicking on "Text Online Courses" or "Video Online Courses", then on "Browse Our Selection ...", and entering your state and your profession at the top of the list. When you do that the list of text based and video online courses will populate with the number of CE hours each online coure is approved for. If an online course is not approved, that will be indicated.

We are approved by the APA, and the Kentucky board will accept providers approved by the APA.. Heisel and Associates is no longer an approved provider for the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Marriage and Family Therapists. We submitted our sponsor renewal application in 2023. We received a board communication that our application was denied. We were told we would receive a follow up explanation, but none has ever come. We would like to be a provider of CE for MFT's in KY, but cannot do that without board approval.
